Objective

To design a Boomi process that retrieves customer data from Big Commerce’s REST API,
transforms the JSON response to XML format, and creates corresponding Account records
in Salesforce.

Prerequisites

1. Boomi Platform Access
2. BigCommerce API Credentials:

• Store Hash

• Access Token

• API Version (typically v3)

BigCommerce API Endpoint:

• GET /customers
• Example:  https://api.bigcommerce.com/stores/{store_hash}/v3/customers

Salesforce Access:

• Connected App with Client ID/Secret or username/password access
• Permission to create Accounts

Step-by-Step Process Configuration

Step 1: Start Shape

  • Type: No Data
  • Use: Triggers the process manually or via schedule

Step 2: HTTP Client (BigCommerce)

Connector: HTTP Client
Connection:
Base URL: https://api.bigcommerce.com/stores/{store_hash}/v3
Headers:
X-Auth-Token: {your_token}
Accept: application/json

Operation:
• HTTP Method: GET
• Resource Path: /customers
• Response Type: JSON

Step 3: Map (JSON to XML)

Component: Map BC_Customer_to_SF_Account
Source: JSON profile (from BigCommerce response)
Destination: XML profile matching Salesforce Account fields.

Sample Mapping:
BigCommerce JSON Field Salesforce XML Field

first_name + last_name AccountName
email                      Email__c
id                            ExternalId__c

Step 4: Salesforce Connector

Connection: Salesforce
• Operation: Create_Account
• Object: Account
• Action: Create or Upsert
• Input Profile: XML (from mapping).

Step 5: End Shape

Type: End and Continue
Use: Ends process or continues with additional logic/logging
